Description of Ministry
Armor of Righteousness has been serving inner city youth and young adults since October 1999 in the Washington Metropolitan Area (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia).
In addition to our regular Sunday service, we provide a 24/7 hotline, mentoring, tutoring, recreational field trips, and food, clothing, and temporary shelter assistance when needed.
MINISTRIES
Teen's Ministry – Shaneece Watts
Through the Bible, other books, DVDs, Arts & Crafts, and games, we teach our youth to know Christ as Savior (Psalm 63:1; 1 Tim 3:15) so that they will be protected in each area of their lives: spiritual, emotional, physical (John 17:15) and quiz them at the end of Children’s Church to measure their learning. Every three months we have “Youth Sunday” so the teen's can show off their learning and talents through singing, dancing, skits, and scripture recitation. We “train them up in the way they should go” (Prov 22:6) so that one day they will go forth and teach others of Christ’s wonderful works.

Dance Ministry
Liturgical dance is about creating an atmosphere of praise and worship that God would inhabit. Our dancers range in age from 5-27, and my job is to help them express themselves as living sacrifices for the glory of God. 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Oh taste and see the Lord is good.
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him (Ps 34:8).

Men’s Ministry
Men’s ministry is about creating a deeper bond of brotherhood between the men of AOR, encouraging the pursuit of excellence in all areas of our lives, and being active participants in the growth and development of children in our own homes, our church, and our community. My job is to call our brothers together and officiate the order of our meetings.

Music Ministry
– Seeds of Righteousness, Lamont Sanders, Michael McLain, Dance Ministry, Combination Choir
“Voices of Righteousness” and “Band of Armor” is an urban music group with a contemporary edge of praise and worship aimed at youth and young adults. Our percussion dominant “go-go” style, accompanied with keys and a soulful mix of vocal range and pitch with alternating leads makes music to delight the Lord and honor gospel greats like Mary, Mary, Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin, and more.

Women’s Ministry
– Pastor McLain
God cares about us and knows everything about us: our personal qualities, histories, relationships, experiences and constraints (be they social or religious). He sees our hearts and why we make the choices we make, take the courses of action we take. So we come together once monthly to build ourselves on God’s foundation of love and acceptance of us just the way we are, while yet performing the good work He began in us until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:12). We listen to, support, encourage, and celebrate each other. We help each other learn, grow and mature in Christ that we may be better persons, better daughters, better mothers, better wives, and better Christians strengthened in our love of Jesus and our faith.
